Many people get confused between classical guitar and acoustic guitar and have a misconception of both being the same. The difference lies in fretboard and the shape. The fretboard of the classical version is a bit wider and the size is smaller. The strings are made of nylon or nylon wrapped with metal. That’s why it is also known as nylon-string guitar. It has around 19 frets and 6 strings (although some classical guitars might have seven or eight). The difference in structure has a huge impact on the sound it produces. In fact, it will be more different than what you are used to hearing in the mainstream music industry as most musicians prefer and play acoustic guitar. The sound of classical guitar resonates more to Latin and Spanish music. The string noise of an acoustic guitar lasts longer, and the sound is twangier and brighter than classical guitar.

Even though classical guitar is not as glamorous or trendy as its acoustic or electric counterparts but taking classical guitar lessons as a beginner helps you become a guitarist faster. Among all the guitar types available, classical guitar is an easy starting point. Classical guitar, as the name suggests, is used in classical music and is older than acoustic and electric version. So when you start learning classical guitar, you learn music in its purest form. Since the strings of classical guitars are made of nylon, they are thicker, and hence it is easier to catch up. Metal strings which are sharper, might hurt your fingers as a beginner.

Private Classical Guitar Lessons Review

I’m a University student and my timings don’t allow me to take guitar classes. But I was lucky to arrange a guitar teacher to teach me at my hall.
